The General Foreman supervises and sets direction for all Foremen and craft labor on-site to ensure best use of all company resources and adherence to all company policies and state and federal regulations. This role involves providing formal coaching feedback to Foremen as well as regular informal feedback to Field Engineers. The General Foreman is responsible for scheduling equipment, materials, and tools, effectively utilizing all resources to maximize production and minimize costs after becoming familiar with the scope of work and site conditions. Collaboration with the Trade Superintendent on all scheduled activities is essential. The General Foreman manages, coaches, trains, and implements standardized Work Instructions, assists in process improvement efforts, and acts as a technical consultant to all field personnel in various technical areas including electrical circuits, power quality, switchgear installations, transmission lines, inter-connect systems, and high voltage collection/distribution systems. Safety is a critical aspect of this role, as the General Foreman manages and is responsible for safe working conditions and safety procedures on the project, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Communication with the Trade Superintendent regarding project problem areas and status updates is also a key responsibility. The General Foreman is expected to create a collaborative environment with front line supervision, craft, subcontractors, vendors, and the Owner to continually improve the company's delivery performance.
