About The Position

The General Food Service Worker at Stafford School is responsible for assisting in the preparation and service of quality food to students in a quick and pleasant manner. This position involves various tasks related to food preparation, serving, and maintaining sanitation in the kitchen area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Previous experience with large-scale cooking and food preparation/serving.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency and weight measurements, volume and distance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all general food preparation, serving and sanitation procedures.
• Assists in the preparation of vegetables, salads, sandwiches and other menu items.
• Assists in counter set-up and breakdown.
• Assists in serving of daily menu items.
• Responsible for sanitation in specific work areas and general kitchen cleanup.
• Performs other duties as requested by supervisors.
