About The Position

Join our dynamic and diverse Peraton Technology Services Team on site, at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), as a General Engineer. You will be a key member on our Environmental Test and Integration Services (ETIS) contract as part of the team. Job Description Work with NASA TVAC engineers, training them on operations and safety procedures related to small TVAC chambers. While training, they will execute example Thermal Vacuum tests using the environmental test facilities at GSFC. Will work with a team of relevant technicians/engineers in accomplishing assigned tasks. Completes all test preparations and facility readiness tasks to meet Branch Quality System requirements. Available to give onsite training sessions and answer relevant questions. Provides recommendations to management regarding process and facility improvements and upgrades. Ensures that work practices comply with applicable safety and occupational health standards, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Is aware of and complies with applicable safety requirements for work, including but not limited to, the Mechanical Systems Safety Manual as posted to a document management system. Works with safety engineer to understand requirements, assures hardware and personnel safety concerns are promptly and effectively addressed. Work Environment Work indoors. Work with other personnel in a group that is Team Oriented. Position will work in the clean room.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of experience, in lieu of degree High School diploma and 9 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering terms and ability to efficiently operate computers required.
  • Ability to perform under supervision, read and follow technical procedures, & work from sketches/drawing.
  • Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of large hazardous research aerospace test facilities.
  • Support TVAC-test activities including dewar operation and meteorology.
