Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX. Join the Interiors business unit team in Medley, Florida as Engineer 1. This role is onsite and may be eligible for relocation. What You Will Do: You will drive innovative mechanical design: Oversee the creation, refinement, and validation of robust, reliable mechanical assemblies using 3D CAD (NX), ensuring designs meet performance, manufacturability, and cost objectives. You will lead cross-functional collaboration: Work seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams, including Program Management, Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Contracts, to align efforts and deliver on program goals. You will manage project execution: Track program progress, maintain schedules, gather technical and programmatic updates, and report to management to ensure milestones and business objectives are met. You will assess risks and opportunities: Identify potential project risks and opportunities, develop recovery plans, and drive proactive solutions to keep programs on track. You will optimize with advanced tools: Leverage tools like Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) and engineering best practices to validate designs, optimize performance, and ensure program success. What You Will Learn: You will learn to master project planning in mechanical design: Deepen your skills in driving efficient, reliable, and manufacturable designs while considering schedules, budgets, and program objectives. You will develop CAD Leadership: Enhance your proficiency in using NX software to oversee the preparation, modification, and release of precise mechanical designs that align with project requirements. You will excel in material and supplier coordination: Build expertise in evaluating materials and components, while fostering collaborative relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution. You will learn advance engineering analysis and problem solving: Hone your ability to perform detailed calculations, address design challenges, and validate analytical solutions to keep projects on track. You will navigate aerospace project challenges: Build a strong understanding of FAA requirements and aerospace-specific testing protocols, ensuring safety and compliance while managing the complexities of real-world applications.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the design of mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with the Teamcenter product lifecycle management system.
  • Experience using the NX modeling software or equivalent.
