About The Position

Williston Central School (WCS) is seeking an energetic and caring individual to join our 5th/6th grade teams in the role of a 1.0 FTE General Education Paraeducator starting FY27. We are looking for a skilled professional to act as a vital link across three grade-level teams, providing support to both students and faculty to facilitate a successful educational experience. This position is essential to our mission of fostering student growth, independence, and a collaborative school community. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced teaming environment.

• The physical capacity to meet the requirements of the position, which may include lifting.

Responsibilities

• Taking a proactive approach to supporting 5th/6th grade teams by anticipating and meeting needs in advance of directions.
• Establishing positive relationships and working with individual students to problem-solve situations throughout their day.
• Providing strong organizational support, including managing instructional resources, making copies, and ordering student supplies.
• Organizing field trips and special events, and assisting with general team communication with families.
• Taking a leadership role in supervising students during lunch, recess, bus arrival/departure, and off-campus trips.
• Utilizing consistent, positive behavior management strategies across a variety of school settings.
• Participating in team meetings and working closely with teachers while maintaining strict confidentiality.
