About The Position

Innova Girls Academy Charter School is on a mission to help Rochester's girls see themselves as leaders and problem-solvers. A STEAM based school, all students will engage daily in culturally relevant project-based learning that builds confidence and a love of learning. The position involves internalizing and customizing prepared grade level lesson plans to ensure that students receive high-quality instruction daily, delivering engaging lesson plans, cultivating positive relationships with students and families, assessing and evaluating student growth, and modeling CREATE values in the classroom.

Requirements

• College Diploma in relevant course of study and/or work experience in K-5 grade education.
• NYS Teaching Certification or working towards attaining such certification.

Responsibilities

• Internalize and customize prepared grade level lesson plans to ensure high quality instruction.
• Deliver engaging and effective lesson plans as demonstrated by student data.
• Cultivate positive relationships with students, families, and community members.
• Assess and evaluate student growth; create and execute action plans based on student data.
• Model CREATE values and foster a classroom culture that develops these values in students.
• Effectively communicate with parents to address individual student needs.
