About The Position
Pharo Management is seeking a General Counsel to join our legal team in our New York office. The successful candidate will work alongside our existing General Counsel for a period of 12-18 months before assuming the role of sole General Counsel upon the incumbent's retirement. This position offers a unique opportunity to engage in all operational aspects of firm management, promoting the culture and vision of senior partners. The General Counsel will be responsible for the preparation, implementation, and interpretation of fund governing documents, managing fund closing processes, and negotiating investor subscription and side letter documentation. Additionally, the role involves drafting and negotiating various agreements with banks and brokers, developing firm-wide legal documentation standards, and advising senior partners on litigation, regulatory, governance, and transactional matters. The General Counsel will also manage relationships with outside counsel and oversee corporate governance processes for funds, including interactions with fund directors and managing quarterly board meetings. Furthermore, the role includes collaboration with senior management on insurance, intellectual property, data privacy, and employment matters, as well as working with the Compliance Department on regulatory matters.
