We’re looking for a dynamic and commercially astute General Counsel AMERICAS to join our collaborative and entrepreneurial legal team. Reporting to the Group General Counsel, you will have responsibility for our North and South American businesses and will play a key role in supporting our AMERICAS operations, providing expert legal guidance across a broad spectrum of commercial matters. This is a growth-focused role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, acquisitive environment and is eager to expand their legal expertise across multiple disciplines, sectors, and jurisdictions. This role can be based in New York, New Jersey, or Houston. The role is hybrid, with three days in the office (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday).

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor in US with a minimum of 10 years PQE , with a mix of Law Firm and in-house experience.
  • Proven expertise in commercial contracting from supply side.
  • Due diligence and acquisition integration experience.
  • Strong business partnering skills and the ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and developing junior legal professionals.
  • High emotional intelligence, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proactive, sleeves up approach.
  • A genuine team player with enthusiasm and integrity.

Nice To Haves

  • Tech (SaaS/software) experience (desirable).
  • Fluent in Spanish (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, including SaaS/software, consultancy, and supplier agreements.
  • Managing straightforward litigation and overseeing external counsel for complex matters.
  • Supporting internal investigations and contributing to risk and compliance initiatives.
  • Providing legal input during acquisition onboarding and supporting our global insurance programme.
  • Offering pragmatic legal advice to senior stakeholders across diverse business units.
