About The Position

The General Construction Laborer position is a full-time role based in Grand Prairie, TX. The successful candidate will perform various tasks related to the maintenance and service of containers both in the yard and at customer job sites. Responsibilities include light welding, electrical work, troubleshooting AC service, and managing container inventory. The role requires the ability to work independently and safely in a dynamic environment, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience in a construction or maintenance environment.
  • Prior experience working in a yard environment with paperwork and inventory.
  • Basic carpentry and electrical ability.
  • AC troubleshooting ability and HVAC window unit installation experience.
  • Ability to travel locally in a company truck and occasionally overnight to Louisiana.
  • High-quality customer service skills.
  • Basic computer and phone skills.
  • Ability to drive a forklift.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and safely.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience repairing containers, van trailers, and metal waste bins.
  • Light plumbing experience.
  • Welding experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service on containers in the yard and out at customer job sites.
  • Light welding and electrical experience, including rewiring, switches, and outlets.
  • Use of power washer and other power tools for general maintenance.
  • Perform troubleshooting AC service and HVAC unit swaps as needed.
  • Move large container inventory with a forklift and maintain logs.
  • Organize yard for containers by size and state of repair.
  • Manage preparation and availability of all container inventory.
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain sufficient quantities of all container types.
  • Organize building materials inventory levels for container repair.
  • Work outside in variable weather conditions.
  • Ensure each asset leaving is prepared and quality checked.
  • Follow company safety guidelines and participate in safety meetings.
  • Receive or load assets to/from third-party vendors.
  • Perform bi-yearly inventory responsibility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
