About The Position
Signature Cleaning Services Inc. of Long Island is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented General Cleaner/Porter to perform a variety of cleaning tasks across different job sites in Nassau County, Long Island. The responsibilities will vary based on the specific requirements of each site. Essential Functions: Collect and dispose of garbage Sweep and mop floors; vacuum carpets; clean restrooms Dust and wipe high-touch areas Ensure building entrances are always free of clutter Address minor technical issues, such as changing light bulbs Report damages, coordinate with technicians, and oversee repairs Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies Place safety hazard signs, including wet paint and wet floor signs Respond to major spills or other cleaning emergencies Adhere to health and safety regulations Salary: $16 to $18 per hour If you are a reliable and hardworking individual who takes pride in maintaining clean and safe environments, we encourage you to apply for this position.
Requirements
- Previous work experience as a Porter, Janitor or Custodian preferred
- Hands on experience with industrial cleaning equipment
- Ability to stand, bend, squat and lift up to 40 + lbs.
- Solid verbal communication skills to interact with cleaning staff, technicians, and customers (English or Spanish)
- Availability to work in flexible shifts (e.g., weekends and evenings)
- Must be reliable and professional
- Cleaning experience and ability to operate cleaning equipment preferred
- High School Diploma/ GED (Preferred)
