About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of cleaning activities in assigned buildings and facilities, ensuring they are kept in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition. The role also includes performing other tasks related to the area of assignment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic operations of janitorial work.
  • Familiarity with methods, materials, and equipment used in janitorial work.
  • Understanding of basic safe work practices.
  • Ability to use toxic and non-toxic chemicals as per MSDS sheets.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Effective communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
  • Ability to interpret written instructions and warning labels on cleaning chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • High Dusting: Clean high surfaces above shoulder height using a treated high duster in a counter clockwise direction.
  • Sanitizing / Spot Cleaning: Sanitize surfaces below shoulder height with a germicidal solution, remove fingerprints and smudges from doorknobs and walls, and spot clean windows.
  • Bathroom Cleaning: Wipe down sinks, toilet seats, and the inside of toilets with a germicidal solution, and check soap and paper dispensers daily.
  • Empty Trash Cans: Remove liners from trash cans with liquid, wipe the cans, and replace with clean liners.
  • Floor Dusting or Vacuuming: Dust mop or vacuum floors, ensuring to clean under furniture and in restrooms.
  • Grounds Care: Clean outside areas, empty ash urns and trash cans, and police sidewalks and parking lots for trash.
  • Public Common Areas: Dust mop and spot mop main hallways, clean glass, and check for cobwebs.
  • Food Court: Clean and sanitize tables, empty trash cans, and police outside eating areas.
  • Floor Sanitizing: Mop floors with a germicidal solution, ensuring to clean under furniture.
  • Your Inspection: Review cleaning steps and check furniture placement after completing the room.
  • Customer Relations and Service: Be friendly and courteous to customers, report broken items, and maintain a clean personal appearance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Account Manager.
