About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of cleaning activities in assigned buildings and facilities, ensuring they are kept in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition. The role involves various tasks related to the area of assignment, including high dusting, sanitizing, bathroom cleaning, trash disposal, floor care, and maintaining public common areas and food courts.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic operations of janitorial work.
• Familiarity with methods, materials, and equipment used in janitorial work.
• Understanding of basic safe work practices.
• Ability to use toxic and non-toxic chemicals as per MSDS sheets.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Effective communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.
• Ability to operate powered and non-powered janitorial equipment.
• Physical capability to perform assigned duties, including lifting, climbing, bending, and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Perform high dusting using a treated high duster in a counter-clockwise direction.
• Sanitize and spot clean surfaces below shoulder height using a germicidal solution.
• Clean bathrooms, including sinks, toilets, and refill soap and paper dispensers.
• Empty trash cans and clean them if necessary.
• Dust mop or vacuum floors, ensuring to clean under furniture.
• Maintain outside areas by cleaning ash urns, trash cans, and policing sidewalks and parking lots.
• Dust mop and spot mop main hallways and clean glass in public common areas.
• Clean and sanitize tables in the food court, manage trash, and clean trays.
• Sanitize floors using the proper germicidal solution.
• Inspect completed work and make corrections as needed.
• Maintain customer relations by being friendly and courteous.
