About The Position

NJM Insurance Group is seeking part-time Student Associates for a year-round General Claims Associates role. This position offers flexible hours that can be scheduled around academic commitments, providing students with valuable work experience in the insurance industry while they pursue their degrees.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prior experience interacting with the public in a professional setting is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Multi-tasking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Technical aptitude, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Currently working toward an associates, bachelor's, or master's degree.
• Ability to think critically, use resources, and seek answers.

Responsibilities

• Assist with property damage claims by bringing a prompt and amicable resolution.
• Verify coverage on claims and contact parties involved.
• Initiate phone calls to assist in scheduling appointments at repair facilities and assessing damage.
• Assist adjusters by contacting witnesses, police departments, attorneys, or other insurance parties.
• Ensure claims are settled and negotiated based on company guidelines and applicable law.
