About The Position

General Assistant Frostburg State University (FSU), Office of Well-Being and Prevention (SAFE) is accepting applications for a Part-Time, Contractual, Nonexempt, General Assistant. The hourly rate of pay is $20 per hour.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant field with two years of related experience.
  • Office Management: Maintain office/daily office operations: including scheduling, professional email marketing, accounting through university internal management system.
  • Grant Assistance: Assist in collecting data, conducting surveys and focus groups. Storing data in google forms/Microsoft outlook forms.
  • Accounting Basics: Experience with basic financial tracking, budget monitoring, and office supply procurement.
  • Recruitment: Ability to work information tables, communicate effectively with potential students.
  • Physical Capability: The position is mostly sedentary for the day-to-day office routine, but requires the ability to lift 10-15lbs for event setup and maintenance tasks around campus.
  • Task Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize prevention-related projects while tracking grant deliverables.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Emerging Media, Communications, or related field.
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign, or Illustrator for the high-level production of office posters and campaign assets.
  • Canva Experience: Skilled in using Canva for social media graphics and digital announcements.
  • Podcast Production: Technical ability to record, edit, and promote the office’s weekly podcast series.
  • Social Norming Campaigns: Creative experience in developing visual posters, messaging boards, and slogans that promotes healthy behaviors and campus/office resources.
  • Promotion & Marketing: Design materials for event promotion and recruitment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the SAFE Office staff and work closely with student interns and peer health educators.
  • Assist with student advising and mentoring
  • Create visual and audio content for the office, including posters and podcasts.
  • Assist with the logistics and promotion of social norming and prevention initiatives.
  • Assist with planning meetings, events and other prevention activities.
  • Assist with budget management.
  • Maintain and update SAFE Office website
