About The Position
The Billings Gazette, Montana's largest daily newspaper, is looking for a full-time general assignment/breaking news reporter eager to cover murder and mayhem, wrecks and riots, and the general hullabaloo found in the state's largest city. We also need a person to deliver important watchdog journalism to our readers. Covering the beat requires the ability to quickly file breaking news stories while juggling long-term investigative, enterprise and crime and court stories. We want a candidate who can ask tough questions, dig into trends and find fresh angles to pursue. We have a welcoming, vibrant and hardworking newsroom, which makes it a great environment for a new reporter to develop their skills and grow as a reporter and writer. We work hard and have fun.
