About The Position

The General Assembly Controls Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems for the general assembly line. This role ensures that all control systems are optimized for efficiency, reliability, and safety, supporting the company's production goals. Must be willing to relocate to Warsaw, IN. Relocation assistance will be provided.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in control engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in programming and configuring PLCs, SCADA, and other control systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in control system software and tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degrees or certifications in control engineering or related areas.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop control systems and algorithms to meet the specific needs of the manufacturing line.
  • Program and configure PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and other control interfaces.
  • Conduct system integration, testing, and debugging to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks on control systems and affiliated machinery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control systems to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and upgrade existing control systems to enhance efficiency and longevity.
  • Conduct system analysis to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and departments to ensure seamless integration of new processes.
  • Ensure all control systems align with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of control system designs, configurations, and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on control system performance to senior management.
  • Provide training and technical support to maintenance staff and users on control systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends in control engineering.
