About The Position

As the GA CI / Launch Manager, you will lead the GA (General Assembly) productivity & launch activities with support from the Plant Planner, departmental Business Manager, and other plant personnel. You will utilize plant knowledge, relationships and authority to execute launch-related matters. You will be engaged in Program from Vehicle Program Initiation (VPI) -8 to Launch Team Release (LTR). In this role, you will directly report to the General Assembly Area Director with additional direction from the Launch team.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to alternate and work flexible shifts depending on launch activities
  • Ability to work OT as needed
  • Ability to travel a limited amount of time domestically

Responsibilities

  • Lead GA CIP initiatives and optimization projects.
  • Utilize production knowledge to analyze major design, tooling and specification for SPQRC issues
  • Assist production in the development of the initial JES and SOS
  • Integral member of the problem resolution teams in GA, assisting in resolution of build issues in GA while ensuring that the 7- diamond problem solving process is being utilized
  • Executes the change management process for internal process control (tooling, material, etc.), coordinates issues and resolutions with Body Shop and Paint Shop.
  • Works with the Change Management Coordinator - Launch to develop plans for Production Trial Runs, Engineering Tryouts, Engineering Work Orders, etc. during the launch process
  • Conducts daily Plant Issue Team/Shift Leader meetings to resolve build issues and achieve schedule
  • Coordinates rework or replacement of non-salable parts on salable vehicles with support from other plant departments and Product Engineering
  • Coordinates the Process Verification Builds during IVER ensuring the operations are reviewed for safety, ergonomics, containers, tooling, etc.
  • Participate in easel board reviews at IVER
  • Supports the Virtual Engineering activity by “leading the discussion” for General Assembly at all Virtual Tryout events
  • Coordinates daily activity of launch personnel
  • Manage all activities between PIT/IRT, facilities, equipment and budget
  • Establishes plant participation for Validation Center builds and tool shops, for system buyoffs
  • Input into pre-production budget requirements: resources, materials, training aids, etc.
  • Provides Level 1 & 2 outline for all General Assembly Master Dot activities ensuring updates with the appropriate countermeasures
  • Communicates General Assembly’s status to the Plant Launch Operations Manager and the General Assembly Area Manager
  • Works with the Material Launch Manager to help coordinate and validate the material plan for General Assembly
  • Coordinates quality plans with Quality Systems
  • Holds team accountable to achieve manpower targets
  • Ensures that the GA manufacturing validation plan supports the acceleration schedules and comprehends the plant build restrictions
  • Plays an active role in the development of the General Assembly dimensional tune-in plan
  • Drives ergonomics issue resolution by ensuring that General Assembly ergonomic reviews are occurring and corrective actions are developed
  • Provide leadership and Production input to GMS implementation, pulling on additional support as required
  • Manages the review and buy-off of General Assembly responsible items in vehicle retrofits execution on any vehicles before shipping
  • Supports General Assembly Matching build activities for build events M3 & M4 by working closely with the Quality Lead in executing the matching requirements
