About The Position

The Department of Anesthesiology at The University of Wisconsin is recruiting a general/Adult Multispecialty anesthesiologist primarily to provide clinical anesthesia care with teaching opportunities to residents and medical students. If appointed on the CHS track, duties will also include education and research components. This position is full or part-time FTE 75-100% This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Clinical Professor or Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Assistant Professor or Professor (CHS) or Associate Professor (CHS) or Assistant Professor (CHS). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist. The chosen candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows. The chosen applicant will participate in administrative, and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members. Established in 1927 by Ralph M. Requirements

• WI medical license by start date of position.
• Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology by start date of position
• MD, DO, or equivalent is required by start date of the position

Responsibilities

• The chosen candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
• The chosen applicant will participate in administrative, and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
• An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
• Provision of clinical anesthetic care to surgical patients (i.e. working in the operating room, plus evening and weekend call ) in an anesthesia team model.
• Major teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students in the operating room, and didactic sessions.
• Primary emphasis of teaching will be in general anesthesia procedures and techniques, or in area of subspecialty training.
• Opportunity for participation in clinical research for interested candidates.
