About The Position

This position serves as the agency’s facilities and leasing manager and is responsible for all aspects of agency facilities, leasing and safety related issues statewide. Areas of responsibility include facilities, agency leases, safety, telecommunications and other duties relating to the responsibilities of the Bureau of General Services and customer support.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering, or administrative work.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience as described above.
  • A master’s degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for two (2) years of experience as described above.

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory experience of 2 years or more
  • FCCM(Florida Certified Contract Manager) experience
  • State facilities management experience

Responsibilities

  • SUPERVISION –This position is primarily responsible for the supervision of the Facilities Management unit which includes facilities, leasing, safety and telecommunications within the Bureau of General Services.  Responsibilities include planning, assigning, directing, reviewing and evaluating the work of staff assigned to the noted unit above; creating, interpreting, coordinating and enforcing policy; developing work procedures and methods; planning and conducting meetings with internal and external customers; and resolving departmental and vendor problems that cannot be resolved at a lower level.
  • FACILITIES - This position is responsible for all aspects of agency’s facilities throughout the state which includes, but is not limited to, managing renovations/buildouts for staffing needs, and coordinating maintenance/repairs, and surplus property removal.
  • LEASES - This position is responsible for managing the statewide leases for the agency which includes, but is not limited to, drafting, administering, managing and monitoring leases; answering questions regarding leases and resolving any issues pertaining to leases and property managers.
  • SAFETY - This position reports to the agency’s Alternate Safety Coordinator for all offices throughout the state.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in the establishment and communication of procedures for evaluating the effectiveness of control measures used to protect employees from health and safety hazards in the workplace; reviewing and updating workplace safety rules based on incident review findings, inspection findings, employee reports of unsafe conditions or work practices and addressing suggestions and concerns; and conducting scheduled and unscheduled inspections to identify and correct unsafe working conditions, giving special attention to detecting serious concealed dangers.
  • TELECOMMUNICATIONS – This position has oversight of administering and managing the agency’s wireless devices program, and the agency’s Phone Desk requests, including conference room and conference line reservations.
