General Activities Therapist 2
About The Position
We are seeking a General Activities Therapist 2 (GAT2) to join our team at Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility. This role involves serving in an instructional capacity for youth, planning and implementing recreational activities, and contributing as a member of the interdisciplinary team. The therapist will recommend group and/or individual treatment goals and activities, prepare and maintain reports on behavior and progress for the treatment team, and manage weekly activity schedules and inventory records for equipment and materials.
Requirements
- 30 months experience with coaching, personal training, and/or fitness instruction OR 30 months experience providing work direction to incarcerated persons and training and/or development
- OR completion of associate degree in recreation; and 12 months experience in activity therapy or recreation
- OR completion of undergraduate core program in recreation; and 6 months experience in activity therapy or recreation
- OR 6 months experience as General Activities Therapist 1, 44211
- OR equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above
