About The Position

Sabrosura Foods prioritizes product quality, food safety, and employee safety. A Utility operator assists the supervisor/lead in daily operations to fulfill scheduled orders with speed and accuracy. This role operates in a team environment where communication is essential. The position requires learning and applying skills to various machines, products, and packaging types used daily.

Requirements

  • The ability to attend work predictably and regularly and to be punctual.

  • Must have a good attendance record.

  • The ability to deal politely and professionally with plant inspectors and coworkers.

  • The ability to lift and move 50 pounds.
  • The ability to sit/stand/bend/stretch, etc.
  • The ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with the hands and arms.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production, sanitation, and other general duties as assigned in accordance with established safety and quality standards.
  • Observe and comply with all GMP and OSHA requirements to perform the essential functions of the job safely.
  • Perform basic duties such as placing product on tables, placing product on containers, removing containers around production lines, ensuring containers have correct product information, weighing out product, and placing them on packaging equipment.
  • Lift boxes of meat onto conveyor belt for blender machine ranging from 60 lbs.
  • Inspect and remove defects or any extraneous materials from product.
  • Report any mechanical or safety problems.
  • Adhere to all safety practices, including wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Keep work area clean by sweeping, shoveling, dumping, or disposing of various materials.
  • Adhere to all plant hygiene standards to ensure product integrity.
  • Be responsible for employee safety, food safety, legality, and quality within the scope of the job's responsibilities.
