About The Position
LanguageLine Solutions is seeking a dedicated and skilled Bilingual Gen-English Phone Interpreter to join our team. This remote position allows you to work from the comfort of your home while making a significant impact on the lives of limited-English speakers, as well as the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community. As an interpreter, you will be responsible for facilitating communication between Gen and English speakers across various industries, including healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, law enforcement, and emergency services. Your role is crucial in breaking down language barriers and ensuring that all parties understand each other clearly and accurately. In this position, you will handle calls on demand, rendering the meaning of conversations in a professional and courteous manner. You will be trained in the best practices of interpretation, ensuring that you are well-equipped to manage both simple and complex conversations. The role requires you to process information quickly and concisely while being sensitive to cultural differences. You will be supported by a Senior Language Specialist and have access to our Interpreter and Technology Help Desks, ensuring you have the resources you need to succeed. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to cultural sensitivity and possess excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills. You will be expected to maintain a professional demeanor throughout all interpreting sessions, especially in high-pressure situations such as emergency calls. This position does not involve written translation; however, we encourage translators and other skilled linguists to apply.
