About The Position

Applies gelcoat to the mold using an atomized spray gun process system.

  • Good knowledge and understanding of gelcoat processes as they relate to the nature of the Cobalt product and customer expectation
  • Must be able to understand and execute top quality expectations
  • Job requires standing and working in and around boat/molds throughout the entire day
  • Must work efficiently and in the safest manner possible, following all safety regulations at all time
  • Ability to read and understand uses of a mil gauge
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, and to effectively communicate with management and subordinates. The ability to communicate effectively is a key element to achieve success in this position.
  • General math skills required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Responsibilities

  • Must possess the ability to use and understand air assisted gelcoat equipment.
  • Ability to calibrate and apply gelcoat consistent with Cobalt quality.
  • Read and understand work orders then apply gelcoat on parts based on production order specifications.
  • Maintain gelcoat equipment by performing periodic and routine maintenance of equipment.
  • Assist in manually moving molds in and out of the gelcoat booths.
  • General housekeeping of area and equipment.
  • Assists in changing out 55-gallon drums and 5-gallon pails of material at gel pumps.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to make sound quality decisions independently.
  • Other duties as required.
