About The Position

This position is responsible for touch up and repair of imperfections, scratches, and cracks in the surface gel coat of the boats before they reach the assembly department of the manufacturing process.

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to push and pull molds.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repeated bending and stretching.
• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Good depth perception.
• Detailed manipulation with fingers and hands.

Responsibilities

• Touch up or repair defects in surface gel coat, determined by the Auditor.
• Mix appropriate amounts of gel coat and catalyst in a small container for use during the patching process.
• Prepare flawed areas for patching by using dremel tools and sanding equipment.
• Apply a specified amount of catalyzed gel coat to the repair by use of a spray gun or by blading a patch.
• Sand, buff, and polish the repaired area after the patch or sprayed gel coat has cured.
• Participate in the detail audit to ensure quality of the boat and/or the repairs.
• Responsible for communicating with the lead and supervisor to determine what repairs will be made.
• Keep area clean and hazard free.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
