See how your contributions will help transform vision into reality: Position Overview : This position applies gel coats to molds and boat surfaces, ensuring a superior finish by preparing molds, mixing gel coat materials, and using spray equipment for application. This will also be a rotational position with the mold preparation area. Precision and strict adherence to safety standards is essential within the Resign Transfer Molding department.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Willing and able to be cross-functionally trained throughout the workstation to cover and fill in for absenteeism.
  • Broad range of skill & working knowledge of work tasks plus working knowledge of related tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Must be willing to work extra hours required to assure timely completion of critical projects.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Skills in forklift, overhead hoist, computer, fiberglass and/or gel-coat applications preferred.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work well with teams professional or otherwise.
  • Understand and follow verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Ability to use hand, battery, and pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to work near co-workers and work in areas with limited space.

Responsibilities

  • Performs elementary and routine mix and lay-up of composite materials, fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto mold surface using various hand tools.
  • Cross trains to learn the mold preparation area of RTM to be on a rotational schedule with others within the department.
  • Utilization of open mold and vacuum infusion processes.
  • Works with various resins, gelcoats, fiberglass materials, foam, and structural adhesives.
  • Installs wood and other components into fiberglass small part molds.
  • Operates a variety of power tools including but not limited to saws, drills, grinders, and overhead hoists.
  • Locates parts by hand or by utilizing detailed blueprints, work instructions, tools, and/or fixtures.
