About The Position

The GEAR UP First Year College Advisor (FYCA) at the College of Southern Nevada plays a crucial role in supporting first-year students who have participated in the GEAR UP program. This position focuses on onboarding, enrollment, and providing essential transition information to help students navigate their first year of college. The advisor will work particularly with diverse populations, including low-income and first-generation college students, ensuring they have access to academic advising and career pathway information.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in social science, education, communication, management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• One year of applicable experience in postsecondary student services such as admissions, advising, or counseling.

Responsibilities
