About The Position

Sandvik Mining has an opening for a Gear Shop 1 in Brier Hill, PA! Sandvik Mining, a business area within the Sandvik Group and a global leading supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries, currently has an opening for a Gear Shop 1 at the Brier Hill, PA location. As the Gear Shop 1 you will be responsible for: The disassembly of gear boxes from Sandvik equipment and you must be able to progress into basic assembly functions with minimal training. Additional capability will be developed to inspect, order material, and assemble gear boxes. The workshop services the aftermarket for the geographical area. This role will interact with a supervisor as well as a peer group, and in addition, customers and various technical services personnel will work with the group. It is expected that you will have the mechanical aptitude to contribute to disassembly and up-front processing immediately. You must show the capability to progress through basic assembly functions quickly. Ability to comprehend and interpret drawings is required along with the flexibility to do conduct shift work.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience with industry-specific equipment
• Technical diploma or certification in a mechanical or electrical discipline
• Effective customer relations
• Active listening skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The flexibility to do shift work is required
• Works overtime/weekends as required
• Upholds safety and housekeeping (5S) requirements
• Working in a team setting with the ability to convey and receive ideas/suggestions in a positive way
