About The Position

The Gear Cut Machinist at Triumph Geared Solutions - Macomb is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of Gear Cut machines in the Gear Cut Department. The Gear Cut Machinist must be able to produce high-quality products according to Triumph Gear Systems Gear Cut department operations manual.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 5 years' experience of Gear Cut operations
Ability to read, understand and correctly interpret blueprints, planning and manufacturing specifications.
Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Clock in & out of appropriate job operations
Read, interpret, and apply information from engineering drawings
Adhere to job plans per job travelers
Set-up multiple types of jobs
Operate CNC and Manual Hob, Shape, and associated machines
Basic Maintenance of CNC and manual gear cut machines
First part quality inspections (Hard checks in Department)
Upload CNC programs
Use precision measurement equipment
Install and maintain cutting tools
Consistently produce quality parts
Adhere to directions and instructions of direct supervisor
Other duties as assigned.
