About The Position

Peak Design is looking for a dedicated individual to join our retail team in our Los Angeles store. This role is not your typical retail job; it’s about creating a welcoming environment for our community of fans who love our award-winning products. As a steward of our store, you will need to have an eye for detail and aesthetics, ensuring that the space reflects the Peak Design brand. You will be responsible for welcoming visitors, sharing stories, and helping them explore our gear. This position combines elements of hosting, product expertise, and education, allowing you to inspire and connect with customers.

Requirements

• Weekend availability is a MUST (Friday, Saturday, Sunday).
• Expert users of Peak Design gear or a genuine interest in quickly developing that knowledge base.
• Pride in making the store a clean, friendly, inviting place.
• Creatives and adventurers who can talk shop with similarly-passionate folks.
• Experience in a customer-facing role, such as retail or hospitality.
• Personal or professional interest in or experience with products in our industry.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods (8+ hours).
• Frequently moving objects up to 30 pounds in all directions.
• Frequently ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps and the like.

• An eye for details.

Responsibilities

• Greet and determine the needs of every customer that walks through the door.
• Know every product inside and out and be able to explain its multiple uses as well as how it fits into our ecosystem of products.
• Handle product returns, warranty claims, and concerns impressively.
• Handle product support issues, both in-person and on the phone.
• Learn how to operate our simple point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Internalize customer feedback and provide that feedback to the store manager.
• Maintain an immaculate environment within the store and outside the store.
• Support monthly community events, both in-store and outside the store.
