Come and join our powerful, unified force with the energy to change the world. Our mission is BIG. Our TRANSFORMATION is key - bringing the right businesses together to LEAD the ENERGY TRANSITION. Our TEAM is ready. Addressing the climate crisis is an urgent global priority and we take our responsibility seriously. Building on over 130 years of experience tackling the world's challenges, GE Vernova is uniquely positioned to help lead the energy transition by continuing to electrify the world while simultaneously working to decarbonize it. GE Vernova helps customers power economies and deliver electricity that is vital to health, safety, security, and improved quality of life. GenAI for Advanced Wind Turbine Troubleshooting: Harness the power of generative AI to transform how we diagnose and troubleshoot issues across GE Vernova's extensive wind turbine fleet. By leveraging our comprehensive repository of operational data, we aim to develop cutting-edge, AI-driven tools that deliver faster, more accurate insights into turbine faults and failures. Currently, troubleshooting guides are produced manually, often with incomplete understanding of the diverse failure modes that can trigger control system faults. This project will use advanced data analysis to uncover the full spectrum of conditions leading to turbine trips, mapping these scenarios to their true root causes. With these insights, operators will be empowered to remotely analyze turbine data, pinpoint the exact cause of a fault, and receive actionable recommendations to resolve issues efficiently. Join us as we redefine wind turbine maintenance - reducing downtime, improving reliability, and enabling smarter, data-driven decision-making for a sustainable energy future.

  • Develop and implement the AI infrastructure for effectively analyzing fleet data for root cause analysis.
  • Produce a prototype tool that ingests turbine data and suggests possible root causes for trips.
  • Produce sample outputs demonstrating tool functionality on test cases.
  • Compare manually-created vs. AI-augmented troubleshooting guides to quantify the value AI can provide in this area.
  • Working towards a Master's Degree in engineering or computer science.
  • Minimum 4.0 GPA/5.0 scale (without rounding).
  • Demonstrated experience in developing end-to-end AI solutions, from data ingestion through to actionable insights.
  • Track record of proactively identifying opportunities for AI applications in real-world scenarios.
  • Ability to handle large datasets, perform data cleaning, preprocessing, and advanced analytics.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, bridging gaps between data science and engineering.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results within defined timelines.
  • Passion for renewable energy.
  • Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment.
  • Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern's permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
  • Employee Assistance Program, providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling and referral services.
  • GE Retirement Savings Plan (RSP) after their accumulated service reaches 90 days, and they meet any other eligibility requirements as defined in the plans.
