About The Position

GE Aerospace Research is looking for a highly motivated PhD student to join our Robotics and Autonomous System team as a Fellow Intern. You will work side by side with experts in the field on robotics and embodied AI research projects to solve real-world technical problems and challenges. As a PhD Fellow Intern, you will be challenged to apply your theoretical knowledge into practice and gain invaluable hands-on experience with cutting edge robotics and AI technologies that help shape the Future of Flight.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a full-time PhD program at a U.S. university in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related fields.
  • Permanent legal authorization to work in the US.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong background in robotics, machine learning, and/or deep learning.
  • Publication records at research conferences such as ICRA, IROS, RSS, CoRL, CVPR, CASE.
  • Experience in end-to-end vision-language-action models, reinforcement learning, real2sim/sim2real transfer, path planning and motion planning.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with ROS.
  • Hands-on experience working with robotic arms and systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
