Our internship provides you the opportunity to be a part of a collaborative team that is helping to solve our clients’ most challenging matters. Throughout GDIT’s 10-week Summer Internship Program, you will have the opportunity to do the following: Work side-by-side with GDIT professionals delivering work for clients. Collaborate with a team of peers to research and propose solutions to a current business challenge. Participate in a mentoring circle led by an early career champion. Interact with GDIT leaders. Participate in professional development.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Systems Engineering, or a related STEM field from a United States-based college or university.
  • At the start of this internship, you should have at least one year of school completed.
  • Ability to work in office full-time.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of AI/ML technologies including Computer Vision, Object Character Recognition, Large Language Models, Agentic AI.
  • An understanding of data science fundamentals.
  • Basic knowledge of decision sciences.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other members of the teams supporting GDIT's AI Center of Excellence and LUNA Digital Accelerator.
  • Write and debug code for machine learning models and data preprocessing.
  • Design, test, and refine prompts to optimize performance.
  • Conduct experiments to fine-tune models and validate their performance.
  • Analyze datasets to identify patterns and trends.
  • Maintain documentation of code, experiments, and findings.
  • Prepare reports or presentations on project status and outcomes.
  • Create and modify new and/or existing technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
  • Prepare datasets for AI use cases.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, technical exchange sessions, and ideation meetings.
