About The Position

The GCSOM Peer Tutor Program for Fall 2025 at Geisinger in Scranton, Pennsylvania, is designed to provide peer tutorial assistance to students wishing to improve their academic performance. This role involves one-on-one or group review sessions, as well as lab practical review sessions. Peer tutors will also offer workshops on general academic skill development during orientation and for under-class students.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pre-Medicine (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Provide tutorial assistance to peers.
  • Conduct academic skill development workshops at orientation and for under-class students.
  • Maintain documentation of services offered and meet with the Director for quality assurance and needs assessment.
  • Assist teaching faculty with preparation of anatomical specimens used in the laboratory.
  • Be available to answer students' questions pertaining to instruction in the laboratory.
  • Be available up to 40 hours per week during the session weeks when gross anatomy instruction takes place.
  • Prepare mock practical and practical examinations.
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment.
  • Accountable for satisfying all job-specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
