AttainX is in search of a highly qualified Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Cloud Engineer to remotely support our federal program based in Juneau, Alaska.  The GCP Cloud Engineer will support the design, implementation of the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. This role includes migrating applications and data from on-premises systems into scalable, cloud-hosted infrastructure. The engineer will collaborate with development, cybersecurity, DevSecOps, database, and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, automated, and resilient cloud solutions.

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure within Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Lead and support migration of applications, services, and databases from on-premises environments to GCP.
  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters for container orchestration.
  • Design and implement cloud networking solutions, including routing, segmentation, firewalls, load balancing, and interconnectivity.
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform and Crossplane.
  • Implement authentication/authorization solutions using Keycloak for OIDC.
  • Leverage ArgoCD and Argo Workflows to support GitOps-based deployments and automation.
  • Support Java application teams in deployment, modernization, and cloud integration (preferred skill).
  • Administer and support Oracle and PostgreSQL databases within GCP architectures.
  • Implement and manage Pub/Sub messaging for distributed systems.
  • Configure and optimize Object Storage for archiving, application data, and large-scale storage needs.
  • Ensure all cloud systems follow security, compliance, and performance best practices.
  • Build, automate, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or GitHub.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying solutions in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes container orchestration.
  • Expertise in cloud networking (VPC, subnets, routing, load balancers, security policies, DNS, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Terraform for IaC automation.
  • Experience with Crossplane for managing cloud resources via Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Keycloak, OIDC, and identity federation standards.
  • Experience with ArgoCD and Argo Workflows.
  • Experience working with Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Experience with Pub/Sub messaging systems.
  • Experience managing Object Storage in cloud environments.
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD workflows using GitLab or GitHub.
  • Hands-on Java development experience.
  • Experience supporting a cloud-native development.
  • Experience with container security, zero trust architectures, and DevSecOps.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise or government cloud programs.
