Craig Technologies has an opening for a Gateway Program Variance Lead at Johnson Space Center, TX. Job Summary The purpose/function of this position is to perform system engineering integration for variances (waivers, deviations) in the Gateway Program within the Moon-to-Mars (M2M) Program. The person will perform integration within Gateway Vehicle System (VSI) office to coordinate all waivers/deviations and their associated processing, processes, and reporting. The person will work at Johnson Space Center (JSC) with a large team of System Engineering and Integration (SE&I) personnel across multiple NASA centers and with international partners in a virtual environment.

  • Coordinate all Gateway Program waivers/deviations (W/Ds) when received by building relationships with stakeholders (internal stakeholders, cross-program stakeholders, international partners), shepherding W/Ds through the process from submission through board approval, and ensuring digital relationships/metadata are appropriately established and maintained.
  • Establish and maintain W/D reports and dashboard data for Program Management, major milestone reviews, and ad hoc reporting.
  • Update/maintain W/D processes as needed, train stakeholders in the process as necessary, and field questions on process.
  • Assign responsible variance integrators (VIs), change package engineer(s) and stakeholders as necessary for W/D development and review.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in W/D technical interchange meetings (TIMs) and working groups.
  • Participate and sometimes lead or facilitate W/D meetings with international partners (IPs) as necessary, in coordination with Gateway ESA Element Integration Manager.
  • A BS degree in engineering or equivalent technical/science degree with a minimum of 7 years work experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with requirements and/or waivers/deviations.
  • Experience supporting NASA human space flight program(s).
  • Experience in development and update of NASA related system engineering documentation.
  • Experience coordinating inputs from multiple stakeholders and reporting status
  • Must Pass a NASA Background Check
  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Experience with a M2M program (Orion, Gateway, HLS, EHP, EGS, SLS)
  • Experience with database applications, especially requirements and waiver databases
  • Experience working and communicating with International Partners (IPs)
  • Familiarity with Gateway Program requirements and Technical Authorities (TAs)
