Seeking Gateway DevOps Engineer at our San Jose offices to deploy, manage, and maintain Zoom’s gateway services including CRC, RTCWeb, and VOIP expert. Monitor infrastructure and develop automation solutions to streamline operations and reduce manual effort. Take ownership as the on-call engineer for assigned services, ensuring uptime and reliability. Lead full lifecycle service deployment and continuous monitoring in production environments. Mentor and guide team members to adopt the best automation practices aiming to reduce toil and enhance efficiency. About the Team With eight specialized departments, the engineering team functions as a highly collaborative, diverse powerhouse. Each department mission is to deliver seamless and innovative communication solutions. These range from software development and machine learning to quality assurance teams that work to create and maintain Zoom's user-friendly interfaces and robust infrastructure. The team continues to push the boundaries of communication technology, bringing people together regardless of their physical distance.

  • Deploying and maintain gateway services on Kubernetes clusters across multi-cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Develop and enhance automation pipelines using tools such as Ansible, Python, Bash, C++, Java, or Go.
  • Having experience with Linux command line utilities and shell scripting.
  • Hands-on experience with medium to large scale CI/CD projects using Infrastructure-as-Code tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Plumi.
  • Monitoring and ensure the health of production systems utilizing observability tools like Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
  • Lead large-scale, high-impact technical projects to improve deployment processes and operational stability.
  • Building scalable, containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker
  • In-depth knowledge of network stack and Linux network layer.
  • Experience with SIP and h323 protocol and conference room technologies.
  • Acting as a technical mentor for junior engineers, promoting automation and operational best practices.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, responding to incidents and ensuring rapid resolution.
  • Working collaboratively across teams to drive continuous improvements in system reliability and automation.
  • Have BS or MS in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of hands-on DevOps experience, with proven expertise in infrastructure design, automation, and cloud-native operations.
  • Have experience with AWS services and Kubernetes-based production deployments.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration management tools (Ansible).
  • Able scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Go, experience deploying and monitoring containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker in production.
  • Able background in monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, and the ELK stack, demonstrated experience leading large-scale technical projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Possess Linux systems administration and troubleshooting skills, excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
