About The Position

ICL, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Gate Inspector for their Bessemer, AL facility. This role involves checking in and out trucks, performing inspections on containers, trailers, and chassis, and ensuring accurate data entry in real-time. The position requires flexibility in scheduling and the ability to work in various weather conditions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of experience in the transportation industry and/or gate inspection.
• Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel and typing skills.

Nice To Haves

• Willingness to participate in internal chassis and container inspection classes.
• Recommended to participate and pass the IICL Chassis Inspector Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Check in and out trucks at the gate.
• Perform inspections on containers, trailers, and chassis.
• Identify defects on the chassis and container and report them.
• Accurately enter gate interchanges into systems in real-time.
• Provide equipment location assignments and update bills of lading.
• Verify paperwork for the equipment being gated.
