About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to perform work functions associated with checking vehicles entering and exiting the Company Distribution Center entrance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Six months experience in a transportation or distribution environment or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job

Responsibilities

• Monitors and checks vehicles entering and exiting the Distribution Center entrance; ensures vehicles are authorized to enter and exit the premises; verifies and logs appropriate information on the daily receiving schedule and/or gate log.
• Uses radio to communicate with distribution center workers to obtain appropriate door locations to send trucks.
• Ensures appropriate gates are locked and unlocked at schedules times.
• Enforces and follows all company procedures and guidelines for entering and exiting the Distribution Center grounds.
• May also be assigned to ensure there is always coverage at the gate by a guard while gates are unlocked.
