The Gate and Field Coordinator for Teacher Education at Liberty University is responsible for overseeing and managing the placement process for both online and residential gate and field placements. This role involves reviewing applications, maintaining relationships with external school systems, and managing placement data. The coordinator will also assist students with inquiries related to the placement process and ensure effective communication with various university departments.

  • Review and process practicum, student teaching, and internship placement requests for external field placements for online programs
  • Address and resolve practicum, student teaching, and internship placement problems and confirm placement requests
  • Manage practicum, student teaching, and internship placement data for students
  • Review and process initial licensure gate applications
  • Manage gate courses
  • Answer student emails and phone calls regarding gate courses and applications
  • Communicate with external school systems via emails and phone calls
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Administrative experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
