The Gastrointestinal Technician at Texas Endoscopy (Plano Endo-East) assists the endoscopy team with patients who are having procedures at the facility. This role includes assisting in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning of the patient care areas. The Endo Tech is responsible for the provision of care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse. The technician provides centralized distribution and control of supplies and equipment to the facility, is in charge of shipping and receiving, and stores prepared articles and supplies in designated areas. They also maintain and track inventory according to facility procedures.

Requirements

  • Medical Assistant or clinical training preferred.
  • One year of GI experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.
  • Patient interviewing skills.
  • Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols.
  • Knowledge of patient evaluation procedures.
  • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly.
  • Strong knowledge base relative to surgery procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Understanding of principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist endoscopy team with patients undergoing procedures.
