Gastrointestinal Surgical Pathologist

Mayo ClinicJacksonville, FL
Onsite

About The Position

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic Florida is seeking a GI/liver pathologist dedicated to our GI/liver subspecialty service to work in a large group practice setting. The ideal candidate will have GI or GI/liver pathology fellowship training as well as strong diagnostic and communication skills; additional interest and experience in other surgical pathology subspecialty areas is welcome but not required. Experience is favorable but not required; current trainees are encouraged to apply. All current members of the division of Anatomic Pathology are experienced general surgical pathologists with subspecialty expertise. In addition, the candidate will be expected to cover the frozen section service, provide on-call coverage, and participate in scholarly activities, i.e. research and teaching. This position includes an academic appointment with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. For those applicants who are interested or actively engaged in extramurally funded research, we may consider a “Clinician Engaged in Research” (CER) designation. The CER appointment is a 3-year commitment from DLMP and Research, with at least 30% protected research time. Development of an independent extramurally funded research program is preferred, and support for subsequent years of research funding will be determined based upon the initial progress towards that goal. Collaboration with our oncology and digital pathology programs is ideal.
