JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Gastroenterology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Chambersburg, PA • Service Setting: Hospital / Outpatient Clinic • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: June 29, 2026 – 6 months • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday; 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM COVERAGE DATES • Ongoing coverage; 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults (18–99) • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 10–11 patients per day • Admissions: Included • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: General gastroenterology including colonoscopy, EGD, and inpatient care FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 30 Hospital Beds • EMR System: Epic • Office Equipment Available: Standard GI procedural equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Not Specified • Support Staff Available: 1 MD, 3 APPs, 3 clinical staff, 2 non-clinical staff • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (with clean file) • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 90 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Not Specified REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Colonoscopy • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) • General GI consults and inpatient care JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: PA license required or willingness to obtain • Board: Board Certified in Gastroenterology • DEA: Required • Certifications: Not Specified • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience • Other Qualifications: Comfortable with outpatient and inpatient GI workflow DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform GI procedures including colonoscopy and EGD • Provide outpatient clinic and inpatient consult coverage • Manage patient care across clinic and hospital settings • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and support staff • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
Requirements
- PA license required or willingness to obtain
- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
- DEA: Required
- Minimum 2 years of experience
