About The Position

The Gastroenterology Technician plays a crucial role in assisting physicians during endoscopy procedures, ensuring that the necessary equipment and environment are prepared for optimal patient care. This position requires collaboration with nursing staff and involves direct patient monitoring and specimen collection.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician program, or comparable program.
• Experience with upper endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with endoscopy procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Place patient on non-invasive monitoring equipment, including pulse oximetry and blood pressure monitoring.
• Prepare endoscopy rooms and equipment for use.
• Assist in the collection of specimens during procedures.
