About The Position

Mount Sinai is seeking outstanding candidates in the Division of Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai Morningside and Mount Sinai West! The Division of Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai West (MSW) and Mount Sinai Morningside (MSM) Hospitals, with a history rich in clinical care and teaching, seeks a full-time Gastroenterology physician interested in advancing our thriving inpatient and outpatient services. As a new member of the full-time faculty, you will assume a primarily clinical role within the Division. You will have 8 half-day outpatient sessions per week. It is expected that they will include 3 sessions of endoscopy and 5 sessions of office hours. The number of endoscopy sessions will increase as you become credentialed with more insurance plans and as your practice matures. The locations of these sessions may include, but are not limited to, the faculty practice gastroenterology office sites at 425 W. 59th Street, the Mount Sinai Morningside Ambulatory Care Center, 158 W. 124th Street for office hours, and the endoscopy suites at Mount Sinai West, Mount Sinai Morningside, and Upper West Side Endoscopy (Ansonia). With time, you may assume the office-based sessions at the Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), also known as the Ryan Centers. The Division embraces the mission of Icahn School of Medicine, pursuing an integrated approach to patient care and education, while fostering a true team spirit rich in collaboration and mutual support. Faculty appointment in Gastroenterology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

  • MD or equivalent medical degree.
  • Completion of residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Interest in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents.

Responsibilities

  • Assume a primarily clinical role within the Division of Gastroenterology.
  • Conduct 8 half-day outpatient sessions per week, including 3 sessions of endoscopy and 5 sessions of office hours.
  • Increase the number of endoscopy sessions as credentialing with more insurance plans occurs.
  • Provide services at various locations including faculty practice gastroenterology office sites and endoscopy suites.
  • Potentially assume office-based sessions at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
