About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our outpatient Gastroenterology team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with our gastroenterologists to provide high-quality, patient-centered focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of gastrointestinal disorders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in an expanding specialty, providing both direct patient care and ongoing education to improve digestive health in our community.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) with certification as a Nurse Practitioner, or
  • Master's degree as a Physician Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Current and unrestricted license to practice as an NP or PA in the state of Arizona
  • National certification (AANP/ANCC for NP or NCCPA for PA)
  • Current ACLS

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and physical exams for patients with gastrointestinal symptoms and disorders.
  • Obtain and interpret patient histories, laboratory tests, and imaging results
  • Manage both acute and chronic GI conditions, including GERD, IBD, IBS, liver disease, and gastrointestinal bleeding.
  • Assist in the coordination of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including endoscopy preparation and post-procedure follow-up.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Educate patients on medication management, dietary recommendations, and lifestyle modifications to promote digestive health.
  • Provide pre- and post-procedure counseling and instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to team-based patient care efforts.
