Gastroenterology In-Patient Nurse Practitioner (Variable shifts / Flex schedule)

Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients ages 17 and older, with injuries or disorders of the Digestive Tract. Treatment includes management of disorders such as, but not limited to obesity, rectal fissures, liver disease, gallbladder disease, GERD, Barrett’s Esophagus as well as performing routine and required endoscopic services. Gastroenterology NP may provide care to patients in the in-patient units performing consults and providing care in out-patient clinics. Gastroenterologists assess, stabilize and determine the disposition of patients with emergent and non-emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range for the role is $125,000 through $144,854 annually. The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
Requirements
- Masters in Nursing Required with Gastroenterology Specialty training preferred.
- Post-Masters Certificate –Nurse Practitioner preferred
- 1 year of experience in Gastroenterology care settings preferred.
- NYS Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License – with Prescriptive Privileges required.
- DEA required.
- BLS certification and/or ACLS certification required.
- ANCC Board Certification Advanced Practice required.
- Current Opioid Prescriber Training Certificate required.
- Current Infectious Certificate required.
Responsibilities
