About The Position

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) general gastroenterologist to join the Franciscan Digestive Care Associates, part of The Center for Digestive Health. This position is located in the Tacoma Metro Area and involves practicing in a collegial, multidisciplinary care environment with excellent support staff. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional clinician with strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care and teamwork. The role includes a mix of outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, with shared call duties among the team. The Center for Digestive Health is a leading program in the Puget Sound region, providing comprehensive care for patients with digestive health concerns. The center boasts a team of over 80 clinicians specializing in gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, conducting more than 76,000 clinic visits, 55,000 endoscopic procedures, and 9,000 surgeries annually. The center is dedicated to achieving the best clinical outcomes for patients while also focusing on innovation through research and training the next generation of medical experts. The infrastructure includes a clinical research and analytics team, and several clinical and research fellowships are available, with clinicians actively involved in training medical and surgical residents. Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is an integrated health system formed by the merger of two award-winning health systems in Washington State, CHI Franciscan and Virginia Mason. With nearly 300 sites of care, including 11 hospitals and a workforce of 18,000 staff and nearly 5,000 employed physicians and affiliated providers, the organization is committed to delivering expert, compassionate medical care throughout the greater Puget Sound region.
