About The Position

Atrium Health is seeking a Gastroenterology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for their Huntersville, NC location. The APP will hold outpatient clinic at the Huntersville office Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm, with time allocated each day for inpatient consults and rounds at the new Atrium Health Lake Norman Hospital. The role includes a half day per week of dedicated administrative time, with an outpatient volume of approximately 14 patients per day and an inpatient volume that varies, likely between 5 to 8 patients per day. The APP will be responsible for two weekends of inpatient call each month and one inpatient holiday per year at an Atrium Health hospital facility.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of Gastroenterology experience preferred.
• Experience with PEG tube insertions and exchanges preferred.
• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required.
• Master's Degree preferred for Physician Assistants.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants required.
• Master's Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required for Acute Care Nurse Practitioners.
• License to practice as a Registered Nurse required.
• Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body is required.
• Acute Care board certification required based upon population and acuity served.

Responsibilities

• Hold outpatient clinic at Huntersville office Monday through Friday 8am-4pm.
• Conduct inpatient consults and rounds at Atrium Health Lake Norman Hospital.
• Manage outpatient volume of approximately 14 patients per day.
• Handle inpatient volume of 5-8 patients per day.
