About The Position

Mechanical Dynamics & Analysis (MD&A), a Subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), a world-class supplier of power generation maintenance services, repairs, and parts for the utility and industrial sectors, has an immediate opening for an on-site Industrial Gas Turbines Division (IGT) Procurement Manager in Houston, Texas. We are seeking a dynamic, hard-working, dependable, process-oriented individual looking to join a strong team environment. The incumbent will be responsible for the training, mentoring, and overall efficient procurement strategies of the division’s facilities (San Antonio and Houston, Texas). Essential Job Functions: Act as a change agent by gathering and facilitating the maintenance of part costs, delivery promise dates, production job data, and other Epicor ERP data as necessary. Responsible for managing, training, and mentoring both division procurement teams. Manage and collaborate with all division departments on new and established billing, planning, and purchasing strategies. Collaborate with all internal division stakeholders to drive and strategize in-stock and cost-saving initiatives. Develop, maintain, and manage measurable performance metrics and reports for the division’s procurement activities, including but not limited to internal and external supplier performance and quality. Responsible for planning, monitoring, and maintaining material levels. Responsible for the division’s supplier performance improvement and purchasing recovery plan. Point of contact for the sourcing organization during inter-department meetings, reviews, and discussions. Create, issue, and delegate purchase orders for parts, components, and supplies to support sales requirements and stocking levels. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly status communications regarding material levels and delivery status. Work closely with suppliers to ensure the quality of components and supplies is delivered on time and at the lowest total cost. Develop supplier relationships to enhance understanding of their capabilities, resolve issues, audit processes, and reinforce continuous improvement. Compile, review, and upload order acknowledgments and cost data in accordance with established division procedures. Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed or required. Must be available to travel as needed. The above is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of responsibilities. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience as a strategic manager and or Team leader within all procurement, commodity management, supply chain, or similar areas.
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience within procurement and other relevant functions, preferably in the Aerospace, Automotive, and or Industrial gas turbine industry.
  • Experience with rating, mentoring, and coaching direct reports, as well as conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Strong Commercial, contractual, and project management competence.
  • Have an understanding of gas turbine manufacturing cost structures and market indices.
  • Strong Microsoft suite and proficient with ERP systems.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • APICS OR ISM certification is highly desired.
