Requirements

  • Knowledge and training related to disconnects and gas piping.
  • Demonstrated ability in use, function, and maintenance of tools applicable to position.
  • Experience with basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Knowledge of transmission and distribution pipeline system operations.
  • Knowledge of leakage survey procedures.
  • Customer service and safety procedures knowledge.
  • Basic computer usage and applicable software knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and operation manuals.
  • Fluency in reading and writing English.
  • Minimum applicable driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Pragma CAD system.
  • Knowledge of natural gas characteristics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work related to meter reading activities.
  • Drive and maintain company vehicle.
  • Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment including wrenches, pliers, meters, and gas indicators.
  • Assist with pipeline locating using various methods.
  • Adhere to line locating procedures and maintain compliance with OKIE 811 law.
  • Turn gas service off, remove meters, and install electronic reader transmitters (ERTs).
  • Inspect, calibrate, maintain, and repair line locating and leakage survey tools.
  • Patrol and maintain pipeline markers.
  • Complete encroachment investigations as applicable.
  • Read gas meters and enter/record data using handheld electronic equipment.
  • Respond to line locate emergencies.
  • Complete and update reports including equipment maintenance and mileage reports.
  • Assist with leakage surveys on pipelines as applicable.
  • Install, program, and troubleshoot electronic reader transmitters (ERTs).
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
